well ... hi-dy hooooo!.. (can say that now that south parc is getting better..heh!)

wHat a looooooooong day... missed my train this morn.. got to the train station right as the train wHas taking off.. yeeeeKs! .. had to take the one that leave 5 minutes after.. but it's not the express... and get's me there 45 minutes later!.. yeeeks again! .. ah well.. such is life...

today wHas pretty good... didnt have alot of energy.. but wHas focused.. (thank god for ginko!).. working on a few projects..jugglin' them ..heh! .. so all is well at work..

before i start ramblin' on about LALA land again.. (i swear i won't bore you anymore with it..this is the last chapter.. heh! maybe.) I wanted everybody to know that REX web design / reX.cam is co-sponsoring with the Bay Gaurdian an 80's disco night at the STUD... this wed.. that's right tomorrow night come down and boogie the last days of disco with reX.!..the STUD is located at 9th and Harrison... we are going to be there taking digital pix of the night...and then i will be posting them to my new area of the reX.cam.. reXcam events... soon to be opened.. this is an area where i will host events... and you will see me out there living life.. having funn.. and promoting different clubs...or events.. want to do coverage of the Pride paraDe this year..and it would be perfect to put there.. more about that later.. but if you are interested in coming by the STUD this wed.. please do! .. would be great to see a few of you that visit my cam.. hopefully this will bring some more exposure to my cam.. we already have a little logo in the Bay Gaurdian with the ad for the STUD... yah! .. lets boogie!..heh! ..

ok.. so.. where wHas i in LALA land.. (does everybody know what LALA land is now? .. saw that a few folks didnt know!..heh!)..

Second day wHas as much funn as the first.. not more.. but different.. first started out the day with the Internet World conferences.. my gosH that's wHat i came down here to do! .. heh! .. love going to seminars.. and learning.. since i teach..it's a great swap.. love to be the audience for awhile.. learned a few cool things.. went to a "Search Engines" seminar.. where i learned tricks on how to get your site listed better ... then checked out the "Virtual Classroom" .. where these guys were talking about distance leARNing.. very interesting.. got my brain going!.. anybody want to take some long distance classes from reX.? heh! ..

the best seminars were the streaming media.. that happened on the second day.. but i will tell you about them now.. cause i wont bore you with another day in LA.. ;) Streaming media is like audio and video that comes to you in chunks of information... so you don't have to download the whole file before you can start viewing or hearing it... very cool stuff.. but yah.. bandwidth is still a bitch.. over a 28k modem..it's still pretty bad... but there is some light at the end of the tunnel.. Representing the media streaming technologies where Real Networks with their Real Player... Microsoft (yeeeKs!) with their freash new "Windows Media" .. (they released it during the show)... and encoding.com. Where wHas QuickTime???!!.. (apples solution).. nowhere to be found.. i wHas bummed.. but the wHole show wHas sponsored by INTEL.. so yah gotta figure that they didnt want Apple around at all.. yeeeKs.. i learned something about politics.. ugggggh!..

well sitting there listening to them boAsting about their features.. burned me up! .. QuickTime 3.0 already has alot of the features that they were talking about... so i sat there with my rub-on Apple tattoo (not a new one folks..only a rub-on.. shoulda saved that for my next apRil fools day joke..heh!).. in the front row listening to them talk about their products.. and it wHas funny havin' them speak and then look at the tatt.. Quicktime or Apple wHas not represented.. but i let them know that Apple wHas there! .. eVil grin! .. they did mention QuickTime once though.. they said it wHas decreasing in popularity and use.. (bullshit.. we just haven't bought out enough media websites!..hah!)..

anyhew.. QuickTime 4.0 beta wHas just released yesterday in Las Vegas at the National Broadcast Association.. wowo! ..wish i could have been there this week! ..im wHay excited.. even though it's beta.. it's gonna kick some butt.. it offers some pretty good streaming for video.. (watch out! ..reX. might be doing something different with his site!)... which the server softwarE is free.. you have to pay for it for Windows Media and Real ... PLUS.. it's open source.. meaning that people can make changes and additions to it.. very clever.. and another cool thing is that it will read tons of file types.. including.. real player and windows media.. so you don't have to use anything else.. this is good cause it means you don't have to have tons of plug-ins with your browser to see streaming media.. QuickTime will understand and translate it for you! .. (do i sound like a marketing person now!..heh!).. but you gotta understand.. im excited.. im a computer geeek.. and on top of that i hope that this will be a solution to me being able to stream my webcam from my site.. yah!!. i will like.. you will like.. everybody will be happy cause of QuickTime.. hunger in the world will go away..! heh! .. sorry getting a boner here..

so i promise.. the neXt ramBle i will ramble off on the dinner and the last night in LA.. so i guess this wont' be the last..
