out and people protesting tHat the jury based it's decision on raCe.

explain Diallo verdict ALBANY, N.Y.
Ð Jurors who acquitted four white New York police officers of murder
in the slaying of an unarmed black man say in a television interview
that they simply followed the law in reaching their decision. Ed
Powell, among a group of jurors interviewed by NBC-TV, said the
jury believed that the officers thought that their lives were in
danger. "If I were to pull something out of my pocket, you couldn't
identify that quickly whether it was a gun or a wallet," Powell
said. The officers were acquitted of guilt in the February 1999
shooting death of Amadou Diallo. Officers say they fired at Diallo
41 times as he pulled something from his pocket that they thought
was a gun. It turned out to be his wallet.

I have spent lots of time in Europe, and I have adapted to cigarette
smoke, since it seems that everyone in Europe is born with a cigarette
in their mouth. I do not smoke, but here on my college campus, it
seems like smoking is growing in popularity.
